AGENDA

Addressing the rise of femicide linked to narco-trafficking and organised crime

The agenda explores the disturbing escalation of gender-based killings, particularly targeting women and girls, as a direct consequence of deeply rooted misogyny and systemic violence. Femicide, defined as the intentional murder of females due to their gender, has become increasingly prevalent in regions afflicted by narco-trafficking, notably in parts of Latin America such as Mexico, Honduras, and Colombia. This agenda calls upon delegates to critically examine the intersection of organized crime and gender-based violence, address the systemic weaknesses that enable such atrocities, and formulate comprehensive international responses that prioritize justice, protection, and the empowerment of women in vulnerable communities.

AGENDA

Spygate

One of the most controversial scandals in Formula One history, Spygate involves allegations of corporate espionage between top-tier teams, casting serious doubts on the integrity of the pinnacle of motorsport. As of February 2007, the FIA stands at a critical juncture, with McLaren accused of possessing confidential technical reports and data from Ferrari. While the investigation is still ongoing, this committee will act as a governing body tasked with ensuring the principles of fair competition are upheld, investigating the breach of trust allegations, and deciding the punishment for the violations (if any) of the sporting regulations. Delegates have to navigate continuous crises, legal intricacies, and the commercial implications of the scandal.

IMF

AGENDA

Reviewing the quota system and ensuring equitable voting reforms

The agenda calls for a critical reassessment of how representation and voting power are allocated within the IMF. The existing voting system is rooted in historical and economic hierarchies, often giving disproportionate influence to more powerful or wealthier nations while sidelining smaller or developing countries. This imbalance undermines the core democratic values of fairness, inclusivity, and equal participation. The agenda urges delegates to analyse the structural flaws in the current framework and develop a better system through negotiation and diplomacy. It also emphasises the importance of transparency, accountability, and reforms that reflect the changing global landscape and uphold the principles of equal sovereignty and participatory governance.

AGENDA

Deliberation on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the extent of powers and accountability of the Election Commission of India

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a Constitutionally mandated exercise spearheaded by the Election Commission of India (ECI), intended to maintain accurate voter lists by adding eligible voters, removing duplicates or ineligible entries, and updating details across India. The committee will discuss not only the ECI’s legal authority and mechanisms of accountability in conducting the SIR, but also its transparency and public responsiveness, especially in light of recent allegations of voter fraud in Karnataka. Notable among these is the Mahadevapura case, where over 80 voters were allegedly registered in a single 10 sq ft room, and broader claims of more than 1 lakh fake or duplicate registrations across the constituency. The agenda thus probes the balance between the ECI’s independent mandate and its obligation to uphold voter integrity through accountability.
